illico Book ("we", "our", "us") is an accounting software platform operated by illico AS & TC, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company, accessible at illicobook.com. We provide bookkeeping, invoicing, inventory, and financial reporting tools for small businesses worldwide.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and illico Book ("we", "our", "us"). By accessing or using illicobook.com, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old and accept these Terms in full.

If you are using illico Book on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.

2. Description of service

illico Book is a cloud-based accounting and business management platform that includes:

• Income and expense tracking
• Invoicing and client management
• Inventory management
• Real estate portfolio tracking
• Budget tracking and alerts
• Financial reports (P&L, cash flow, tax estimates)
• Bank statement import (PDF and CSV)
• Integration with payment platforms (Stripe, PayPal, Shopify, mobile money)

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Account registration

You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may not share your account credentials with others. Each subscription is for use by one business entity. Team access is available on the Pro plan (up to 3 users).

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscription and billing

Plans and pricing

• Free plan — $0/month, limited features, no time limit
• Basic plan — $9.99/month, billed monthly
• Pro plan — $19.99/month, billed monthly

Free trial

All paid plans (Basic and Pro) include a 3-month free trial with no credit card required to start. You can add a payment method at any time during the trial. If a card is on file when the trial ends, it is automatically charged; if not, your account simply moves to the Free plan — no charge, no risk. You can add a card later to restore full access anytime.

Payment methods

We accept payment by credit/debit card (via Stripe) and mobile money (MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Airtel Money, M-Pesa, Moov Money, Free Money, Vodacom M-Pesa, and Zamtel, depending on your country — currently available in Bénin, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroun, RD Congo, Congo (Brazzaville), Gabon, Kenya, Rwanda, Sénégal, Sierra Leone, Uganda, and Zambia). Pricing is in USD. Mobile money payments may be subject to operator conversion rates.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months, except where required by law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use illico Book to:

• Record false, fraudulent, or misleading financial information
• Violate any applicable law, tax regulation, or financial compliance requirement
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or resell any part of the service
• Introduce malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Use the service for money laundering or illegal financial activities
• Impersonate another user or business

illico Book is a tool to help you manage your finances. The accuracy of your records is your responsibility. We are not a licensed accountant or financial advisor.

6. Your data

You own your data. illico Book does not claim ownership of any financial records, invoices, or business information you enter into the platform.

You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you enter. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data for the purpose of providing the service.

We provide CSV export so you can always access your data. In the event of service termination, we will provide reasonable notice and data export options.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

illico Book is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Tax estimates provided by the platform are for guidance only and do not constitute professional tax advice.

We strongly recommend consulting a licensed accountant or tax professional for official financial statements and tax filings.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, illico Book shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including loss of revenue, loss of data, or business interruption.

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by local law.

Users in the European Union retain all rights granted under applicable EU consumer protection law.

Our security commitments

Data encryption

All connections to illicobook.com are served over HTTPS with TLS encryption. Data stored in our cloud database is encrypted at rest using AES-256. Your passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored or transmitted in plain text.

Bank statement import security

When you upload a PDF, CSV, or Excel bank statement:

• The file is read entirely within your browser using JavaScript
• The raw file content is never uploaded to our servers
• Only the extracted transaction records (date, amount, description) are stored in your account
• You review and approve all transactions before they are imported

This means your actual bank statement document stays on your device at all times.

Mobile money security

When you connect a mobile money wallet (MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Wave, etc.):

• Your mobile money PIN or password is never entered into illico Book
• Payment prompts are sent directly to your phone by the mobile operator
• illico Book only receives transaction confirmation, not your wallet credentials
• You authorize each payment directly on your mobile device

Access control

Each illico Book account is isolated at the database level. Row-level security (RLS) policies ensure that even if a security breach occurred, no user could access another user's financial records.

On the Pro plan, team access allows up to 3 users per account. Each team member uses their own login credentials. Account owners can remove team members at any time.

Your responsibilities

To keep your account secure, we recommend:

• Use a strong, unique password for your illico Book account
• Never share your login credentials with untrusted parties
• Log out when using illico Book on a shared or public device
• Keep your email account secure — it is the recovery method for your illico Book account
• Contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access

Incident response

In the unlikely event of a security breach that affects your data, we commit to:

• Investigating and containing the incident within 24 hours of detection
• Notifying affected users by email within 72 hours
• Providing a clear explanation of what data was affected and what steps we are taking
• Cooperating with relevant data protection authorities as required by law

Third-party services

illico Book integrates with trusted third-party services, each with their own security certifications:

• Cloud database — SOC 2 Type II compliant hosting on AWS infrastructure
• Stripe — PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processing
• Mobile money operators (MTN, Orange, Wave, etc.) — regulated by national telecommunications authorities
